Boiler Applications in the Feed Industry
Wet granulation and wet extrusion are the main stages in feed processing where steam boilers are used, that is, the granulation stage. The raw materials for granulation are conditioned by a conditioner, using boiler steam to bring the material temperature to 80-85 degrees and the moisture content to around 17%, then made into particles of different sizes by a granulator. After grading and screening, unqualified materials are regranulated, and qualified granular products are sent to the finished product warehouse for packaging, warehousing, or loading and shipment. In the feed processing of feed mills, steam boilers work in conjunction with twin-shaft paddle mixers, crushers, vertical twin-shaft crushers, granulators, conveyors, and packaging machines, etc.
